Winter Activities

The Lake Eildon region transforms in winter, offering access to exciting snow sports at Mount Buller and Lake Mountain, both within easy driving distance. Mount Buller, one of Australia's premier ski resorts, offers downhill skiing, snowboarding, and cross-country trails with reliable snow throughout the season from June to September. Lake Mountain is perfect for families and beginners, featuring excellent cross-country skiing, tobogganing, and snow play areas without the crowds of the major resorts. Even without snow, the cooler months bring their own rewards to the Lake Eildon region. Winter is prime time for trout fishing, as the cooler water temperatures make the fish more active and eager to bite.
