Camping tips

1

Book ahead in peak season

Popular campgrounds fill up quickly during summer holidays, Easter, and long weekends. Book national park sites through Parks Victoria.

2

Bring your own firewood

Collecting firewood in national parks is prohibited. Bring your own or buy from local suppliers before you arrive.

3

Leave no trace

Take all rubbish with you, stay on designated sites, and leave the campground as you found it for others to enjoy.

4

Be wildlife aware

Store food securely to avoid attracting wildlife. Snakes are present in warmer months — be cautious around logs and long grass.

Campfires and fire safety

Campfires may be restricted or banned depending on the fire danger rating. Always check before you light up — and never on a total fire ban day, when no fires of any kind are permitted.
