Licence Required
A valid Recreational Fishing Licence (RFL) is required to fish in Victorian waters, including Lake Eildon. Children under 18 and Victorian Seniors Card holders are exempt from licence fees but must still follow all fishing regulations.

Bag Limits
- • Murray Cod: 1 fish per day (minimum 55cm)
- • Trout (Brown & Rainbow): 5 fish combined per day
- • Golden Perch (Yellowbelly): 5 fish per day (minimum 30cm)
- • Redfin: No limit
Closed Seasons
- • Murray Cod: Closed 1 September - 30 November
- • Trout (rivers): Closed June - early September in some waters
- • Lake Eildon remains open for trout year-round
Gear Restrictions
- • Maximum 2 rods per person when fishing
- • No more than 2 hooks or 1 lure per line
