Mansfield – With nearly 248 different communities, combining together to make Australia the rich melting pot of cultures it is today, we look to January 26th to reflect on our nation and what it is that makes us truly unique in the world. Australia Day gives us an opportunity to celebrate, with family and friends, our freedoms, our culture, the beauty of our country and our rich history.

This year, we encourage you to get in the spirit of Australia Day and make it something to truly remember by participating in our local event.

Mansfield's Australia Day celebrations will be held on Tuesday, 26 January 2010, and will commence with a free breakfast and entertainment at 8.30am at the median strip in High Street (near the roundabout).

Formal acknowledgement will be given to our Citizen, Young Citizen and Community Event of the Year and our official Australia Day Ambassador is Ms Stella Axarlis AM, Board Member, Monash College Group, Phillip Island Nature Park, who will be special guest speaker on the day.

Have a look at the Program of Events to see what's happening in Mansfield.

The Tolmie community will also be conducting their own Australia Day celebrations, kicking off at 11.30am at the Tolmie Tavern.
