Fishing around Eildon - JAN 04, 2009
If you want to hook a trout there are many options. The closest hot spots to Melbourne are Lake Eildon, Eildon Pondage and the Goulburn River downstream of Eildon.
All three waters are going well. In the lake, Murray cod, yellowbelly, redfin and trout are being caught. Eildon Pondage is producing rainbow and brown trout to 3.5kg, and so is the Goulburn River
Powerbait, yabbies and worms are the best baits. The standout lures have been pink Tassie devil lures and small stumpjumpers.
